Invasion '53
Catoctin Pictures (in collaboration with Olim Entertainment) recently produced the short film Invasion '53, a sendup of 1950s sci-fi movies, shot in the style of the period. The ten-minute short stars Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). This project was a test incubator, working out production efficiencies, new production methods, and crew positions at scale to refine cost savings and best practices. And, we had a lot of fun making it!
Invasion '53 was selected by sixty-five film festivals and won thirty awards, including four audience awards and the top juried prize at seven festivals. The short's world premiere was at the Oscar-qualifying Cinequest Film Festival, and it screened at San Diego Comic-Con. Read Just For Movie Freaks' review at this link.
